Gameday Rivals Spotlights – Stoops

We also did segments that spotlighted players and coaches on our show Gameday Rivals.

Here is an example of one of the coach spotlights in which we interviewed Oklahoma Sooners coach Bob Stoops.

Gameday Rivals – Traditions: 12th Man at A&M

In the first season of Gameday Rivals on Fox Sports we did segments on the traditions of the schools we visited. I’ve always been a UT fan but this was one of my favorite pieces I edited for the show, just happens to be an A&M tradition on the 12th Man.

The tradition pieces for each show always ended up as my favorites to film and edit. The fans’ stories were always interesting but the idea of getting to travel to Big XII schools and get front row, or “backstage” passes, to some of the most revered traditions stood out among the experiences of producing the show. With this tradition piece, I was on the sidelines of an A&M game, free to roam and film whatever I needed. I ended up catching an overthrown ball, one handed with the camera in the other, while I was filming in one of the end zones. That was a pretty cool experience.

The best part, however, is that I’m not doing filming from the stands or outside somewhere, I’m in the middle of it all. And I’ve gotta tell you, Texas A&M’s students are the loudest students I’ve ever been around, the sound is so much louder on the field. Looking up at every single attendee as they sway back and forth actually produces a feeling as if the entire stadium is moving, it’s incredible. We got to interview many of the players and just about every single one of them mention the students’ volume as one of the most prideful things about playing as an Aggie football player.

I look forward to sharing more of the Tradition pieces from Season 1 and their unique experiences each one gave me!

In The Huddle – 16yr old Dave Moyer

Coming from Chris Yate’s, with Huddle Productions, an awesome series of interviews called “In The Huddle” with those who shape the social media arena. A very interesting interview with a 16yr old who runs BitWireMedia.com. Below is a post from Chris’ blog at http://yates11.wordpress.com/.

16 Year Old Blogger better then Fox News?

16 Year Old Blogger better then Fox News?

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

Most 16 year olds are just thinking about driving a car. Dave Moyer is running his own company. Moyer is a 16 year old who is also the Founder/President of BitWireMedia.com.

Moyer who’s been blogging since he was 11 believes that Social Media does a better job then Traditional Media. Moyer uses Fox News as a prime example of traditional news getting beat by Twitter. Here’s the 16 year old blogger in our video interview “In the Huddle”

Welcome

My name is Corey Frey. Currently I am a Technical Producer for Huddle Productions and I produce a TV show called “Gameday Rivals” that airs on Fox Sports.  With Huddle Productions I produce a lot of other media, mostly focused on social media platforms. We do anything from commercial YouTube channels to Corporate website media.  I also do some work outside of Huddle Productions here and there, sometimes charity work.

Here I plan to share my experiences and techiniques for what I do.  I’ll also share some of what I do for fun with the skills I have.  There will be a lot of videos and hopefully some tutorials on how to do what we do. But most of all, this will just be a place to share your knowledge as well. If you have some innovative techniques or skills, I want to share them as well.

Here is a fun video to check out to get an example of what I do. Here, Huddle Productions’ Jim Knox, and Fox Sports reporter, Host of Gameday Rivals, takes a leap onto a mattress in the first week of filming for Season 2 of Gameday Rivals, but the jump doesn’t go as planned.
